Life and Legacy: Giving for Tomorrow

As my ancestors planted for me, so do I plant for future generations.”
- Taanit 23a

We thank you in advance for considering the option to leave a Legacy Gift to Shir Tikvah.  Planning ahead for one's own death can be difficult, but it is also a time of reflection on your lifetime and the values you uphold.

Remembering Shir Tikvah in your will or trust, or through naming us a beneficiary in your retirement plan, means tangible support for the kehillah kedoshah (holy community) we have built together.

Getting Started:

1. Fill out our Declaration of Intent form (below). All information will be kept confidential. You may be contacted by staff or a member of the Board who is familiar with Life & Legacy giving to answer any questions you may have

2. Talk to your financial or legal advisor about including Congregation Shir Tikvah in your estate plans. Our legal name and federal tax ID are below.

Legal name: Congregation Shir Tikvah
Legal address: 1631 NE Broadway, #314, Portland, OR 97232
Federal tax ID number: 01-066-5555

A Life and Legacy Story:
Our Limmud  Scholarship Fund started with a bequest from our dear congregant Roz Levine (z"l).

Her $10,000 donation in 2011 was the seed from which that fund has continued to grow. Since then, the Limmud Fund has either partially or wholly covered Nashira Project tuition and Brit Mitzvah tutoring costs for at least 32 families. Today, no students are turned away for lack of funds to study.

Declare Your Intent to Leave a Legacy
Staff or an appropriate volunteer will follow up with more information about your wishes.

In keeping with Jewish tradition, I/we wish to share my/our blessings with the Congregation Shir Tikvah community. Therefore, I/we make this Declaration of Intent to help provide for the Jewish community of tomorrow.
