A discussion for our Shir Tikvah community.

Our Kehilah Shir Tikvah is learning during these stressful times that our community can be strong enough to hold all our sadness, anger and frustration over events in the State of Israel.

We know now that we need to talk, to find ways to share, and most of all, to listen to each other. Not because we are going to agree, but because we are learning that we don’t have to agree in order to trust our connection to each other in our sacred community. We can respect each other anyway, just as the two communities of Beit Hillel and Beit Shammai did, and we can truly come to understand that, as the Talmud says about their disagreements, elu v’elu divre Elohim hayim, 'these and those are the words of the living G*d.'
